Grants from Palomar College Foundation President's Associates and the Leichtag Family Foundation make it possible for students to use textbooks in the library. So before you head over to the bookstore, you may want to check to see if the book is at the library, available to use, for free.

RIP, Maurice Sendak, You Wild Thing

Sendak will be best remembered for his children's books, but he also developed productions of opera and ballet for stage and television. And in 2003 he collaborated with playwright Tony Kushner to publish a book and an opera called Brundibar, a story about children in the Holocaust. His works, at their core, were about the same thing, as he told NPR in 1993: "Children surviving childhood is my obsessive theme and my life's concern."

New ADA-compatible Desk!

       

This excellent table’s legs are positioned towards the rear, which allows wheelchairs to slide fully underneath the unit. Also, the crank at the front of the table permits uses to raise/lower the unit to meet their individual needs, thus accommodating all types of wheelchairs and scooters.

We're truly happy to be able to make our resources more fully accessible to patrons who are not ambulatory.

Yes, loads of the books in the stacks look like (and/or are) antiques, but please know that we're acquiring new books(and DVD's and e-books and and...) all the time.  We have an extraordinary crew of folks working behind the scenes to make sure our collection is up-to-date, comprehensive, and of specific use to students, faculty and members of the community.
Though we're technically an academic library we have a very extensive collection -- just check out our cookbooks, or horse books, or popular DVD's (new discs include The Way and Midnight in Paris, 2 of my favorites from 2011) or novels, or or...!

U.S. Federal Government IRS Income Tax Forms

The Palomar libraries do not have any paper federal income tax forms.
Paper copies of tax forms & booklets can be obtained by mail. Call 1-800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676) Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 10:00 pm local time – except Alaska and Hawaii which follow Pacific time – to order current year forms, instructions & publications as well as prior year forms & instructions by mail. You will receive your order by mail, usually within 10 days.

Federal income tax forms and information can also be obtained by visiting a Taxpayer Assistance Center (TAC). There is one located in San Marcos at 1 Civic Center Drive. Hours are Mon-Fri- 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Phone (760) 736-7355
